The most common physical signs of venous insufficiency are those attributed to the progressive syndromes of chronic venous stasis and chronic venous hypertension. These signs include the following:

  • Edema

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Venous dermatitis

  • Chronic cellulitis

  • Cutaneous infarction (atrophie blanche)

  • Ulceration
