More, larger randomized controlled studies are required to investigate most hidradenitis suppurativa interventions, particularly oral treatments with biologics. Moderate-quality evidence suggests that adalimumab given weekly and infliximab are effective, whereas adalimumab every other week is ineffective. [117] No definitive conclusions regarding the most effective biological drug for hidradenitis suppurativa could be drawn. Higher dosage schedules seem to be associated with higher response rates. The lack of response of one particular drug does not preclude the potential efficacy of another biological treatment.
