Expert Review of Respiratory Medicine
(ISSN: 1747-6348)

Mission Statement

Given the intractable nature of the established diseases and emerging threats (for example, the rise in allergies and a potential global influenza pandemic), the importance of respiratory medicine has never been greater. Expert Review of Respiratory Medicine enables pulmonary specialists to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field, as they emerge.

Coverage includes:

  • Use of new and established drugs in respiratory disorders
  • Medical device technology
  • Diagnostic approaches and technologies
  • Disease-specific reviews (e.g., COPD, asthma, respiratory infections and lung cancer)
  • Perspectives in contentious or emerging areas
  • Occupational disorders

The journal adopts the unique Expert Review article format, offering a complete overview of current thinking in a key technology area, research or clinical practice, augmented by the following sections:

Expert commentary - a personal view on the most effective or promising strategies
Five-year view - a clear perspective of future prospects within a realistic time scale
Key issues - an executive summary cutting to the author's most critical points

Articles are subject to peer-review by three independent referees on a double-blind basis. Authors publishing in the journal are asked to disclose any professional or financial interest that may be perceived as causing a conflict of interest in the context of the article.

The journal welcomes unsolicited review proposals.
