About the Publication

Journal of the Southern Orthopaedic Association (ISSN 1059-1052) is published by the Southern Orthopaedic Association. The Journal serves as a forum for exchange of information and the presentation of new techniques and procedures, as well as updates about the ongoing educational activities and interest to all practicing orthopaedists.

The Southern Orthopaedic Association (SOA) was established in 1983 to provide a forum for the exchange of original, practical, medical and surgical information. Southern Orthopaedic Association is an affiliate of Southern Medical Association (SMA).

The purpose of SOA is solely to develop and foster scientific medicine in the specialty of orthopaedic surgery. The corporation operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.

The annual subscription rate for members of the SOA is $1.25, included in the annual membership dues. The subscription price per year for nonmembers is $20 in the United States, US possessions, and Canada; $35 all other countries, payable in advance. Price to medical student, intern, and resident members, $5 in the US, its possessions, and Canada. Back issues, when available, $4 each.

Over 2000 orthopaedic physicians are members of SOA. Active members reside in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia or in the District of Columbia.
