Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: - Understand the interrelated role of cardiometabolic risk factors-including obesity, dyslipidemia, and diabetes-in the global pandemic of cardiovascular disease
(CVD);
- Recognize the relationship between obesity and depression and its clinical implications;
- Apply evidence-based treatment guidelines for the management of cardiometabolic risk factors to patient cases;
- Analyze the mechanism of action and evidence for the effectiveness of cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) blockade in CVD;
- Evaluate real-world clinical practice issues, including target patient
populations, choice and combination of interventions, treatment side effects, patient adherence issues, and barriers to treatment.
