Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: - Summarize clinical trials establishing value of statin therapy for affecting LDL cholesterol profiles and for providing protective benefit against clinical endpoints.
- Review limitations of best-case statin therapy (the "forgotten
majority").
- Discuss recent results with dyslipidemia treatment strategies "beyond statins."
- Review the ongoing role, value, and safety of statin therapy, especially high-intensity statin therapy, for high-risk dyslipidemia patients.
