How Is eGFR Used to Stage CKD?
Calculate eGFR
Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is the best overall Index of kidney function. Normal GFR varies according to age, sex, and body size, and declines with age.
Evaluate Proteinuria
Proteinuria is a marker of kidney damage. Persistent proteinuria of three months or more is CKD.
