The Altered Adrenal Axis and Treatment With Glucocorticoids During Critical Illness
Although it is clear that dysfunction of the adrenal axis promotes higher mortality among patients with critical illness, the role of exogenous corticosteroids for these patients remains controversial. The current review examines these issues.
