Adult Min/Max Dose: 2.0mg/30.0mg

Common Dosages by Indication:
Bipolar Disorder in Remission
take 1 tablet (15 mg) by oral route once daily
take 2 tablets (30 mg) by oral route once daily
take 1 tablet (20 mg) by oral route once daily
take 1 tablet (30 mg) by oral route once daily
Depression Treatment Adjunct
take 1 tablet (5 mg) by oral route once daily
take 2 tablets (10 mg) by oral route once daily
take 1 tablet (10 mg) by oral route once daily
take 1 tablet (15 mg) by oral route once daily
Manic Bipolar Disorder
take 1 tablet (20 mg) by oral route once daily
Mixed Bipolar I Disorder
take 2 tablets (30 mg) by oral route once daily
take 1 tablet (15 mg) by oral route once daily

Schizophrenia

Drug-Drug Interactions

Contraindicated Drug Combination:
Clearly contraindicated in all cases and should not be dispensed or administered to the same patient:
ANTIPSYCHOTICS/SIBUTRAMINE - Adverse reaction of the latter drug

Moderate Interaction:
Assess the risk to the patient and take action as needed.
ARIPIPRAZOLE/ITRACONAZOLE; KETOCONAZOLE - Increased effect of the former drug
ARIPIPRAZOLE/QUINIDINE - Increased effect of the former drug
ARIPIPRAZOLE/FLUOXETINE; PAROXETINE - Increased effect of the former drug
ARIPIPRAZOLE/CARBAMAZEPINE - Decreased effect of the former drug
ARIPIPRAZOLE/CLARITHROMYCIN - Increased effect of the former drug
ARIPIPRAZOLE/DULOXETINE - Increased effect of the former drug
QT PROLONGING AGENTS/GATIFLOXACIN - Additive side effects from both drugs
NEUROLEPTICS/TRAMADOL - Additive side effects from both drugs
ANTIPSYCHOTICS/BUPROPION - Additive side effects from both drugs


Label Warnings

Pediatric
Relative Contraindication: SAFETY & EFFIC. NOT ESTABLISHED AGE< 10 YRS. POSSIBLE INCR.SUICIDAL IDEATION.
Relative Contraindication: HIGHER RISK OF SOMNOLENCE, EXTRAPYRAMIDAL REACTION: POSSIBLE SUICIDE IDEATION

Lactation
Absolute Contraindication: NOT RECOMMENDED PER MFR, EXCRETED IN RAT STUDIES.

Pregnancy
Only When Necessary: INSUFFICIENT HUMAN DATA; ANIMAL DATA SUGGESTS POSSIBLE TERATOGENICITY

Geriatric
Precaution: (SOM)INCR.RISK OF DEATH IN DEMENTIA. SEIZURE, LOW BP. MAX 10 MG/DAY.

Most Frequent:
Akathisia, Anxiety, Constipation, Dizziness, Drowsy, Dyspepsia, Feeling Agitated, Headache Disorder, Insomnia, Nausea, Vomiting

Less Frequent:
Arthralgia, Cough, Extrapyramidal Disease, Fatigue, Feet Pain, Fever, General Weakness, Myalgia, Nasal Congestion, Nervousness, Orthostatic Hypotension, Pain, Pharyngitis, Rhinitis, Skin Rash, Tardive Dyskinesia, Tremors

Rare:
Abdominal Pain with Cramps, Agranulocytosis, Allergic Reactions, Anorexia, Blurred Vision, Chest Pain, Conjunctivitis, Dehydration, Diabetes Mellitus, Diabetes Mellitus Ketoacidosis, Dyskinesia, Dysphagia, Dyspnea, Gait Abnormality, Heat Stroke, Hyperglycemia, Hypertension, Hypotension, Increased Creatine Phosphokinase, Laryngismus, Lethargy, Leukopenia, Loose Stools, Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome, Neutropenic Disorder, Peripheral Edema, Pneumonia, Seizure Disorder, Sialorrhea, Suicidal Ideation, Tachyarrhythmia, Upper Respiratory Infection, Weight Gain, Weight Loss, Xerostomia
