Dosage and Uses

Adult Min/Max Dose: 8.0mg/37.5mg

Common Dosages by Indication:
Obesity
take 1 tablet (8 mg) by oral route 3 times per day 30 minutes before meals
take 1 tablet (37.5 mg/day) by oral route once daily before breakfast
take 1 tablet (37.5 mg) by oral route once daily one or two hours after breakfast

Drug-Drug Interactions

Contraindicated Drug Combination:
Clearly contraindicated in all cases and should not be dispensed or administered to the same patient:
SELECTED SYMPATHOMIMETICS/MAOI'S - Increased effect of the former drug

Severe Interaction:
Action is required to reduce the risk of severe adverse interaction.
SELECTED SYMPATHOMIMETICS/TRICYCLIC COMPOUNDS - Mixed effects of the former drug
PHENTERMINE/SSRI'S; MILNACIPRAN - Adverse reaction with both drugs
SYMPATHOMIMETICS/SELECTED INHALATION ANESTHETIC AGENTS - Adverse reaction of the latter drug
SYMPATHOMIMETICS (INDIRECT ACTING)/GUANETHIDINE - Decreased effect of the latter drug

Abdominal Pain with Cramps, Allergic Dermatitis, Allergic Reactions, Blurred Vision, Conduction Disorder of the Heart, Constipation, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Drowsy, Dysuria, Headache Disorder, Libido Changes, Skin Rash, Urticaria, Xerostomia

Rare:
Depression, Dysgeusia, Erectile Dysfunction, Hyperhidrosis, Impaired Cognition, Increased Urinary Frequency, Nausea, Psychotic Disorder, Vomiting

Acute Angina Pectoris, Arteriosclerosis Obliterans, Disease of Cardiovascular System, Feeling Agitated, Glaucoma, Hyperthyroidism, Moderate Hypertension, Pulmonary Hypertension, Secondary Glaucoma, Severe Uncontrolled Hypertension

Significant
Alcoholism, Conduction Disorder of the Heart, Edema, Fainting, Psychotic Disorder, Substance Abuse, Valvular Heart Disease
